The Mall Offices

Hello New/Returning Visitor! Welcome to The Quiet Mall. If you have arrived here after poking around a bit you'll probably have questions. So here are the highlights:

1. You will note that we have no advertising on our pages. This is by design. We personally detest the extent to which advertising has inserted itself into almost every minute of each internet user's time online...and we will not stand for it on our own site.

2. You may think that there is something wrong with our pages since none of the links are live nor do the buttons function in the usual ways. Again, there is a reason for this. The Quiet Mall is a directory of places of interest compiled by our staff. We have visited these places and find them appropriate for their categories. As of this writing there are over 2,000 destinations. Finding, sorting and presenting them to you takes some time and we ask you to contribute a small amount towards our ongoing operations as well as sites which are useful...by buying our fully-functional PDF publication via the purchase button below.

Links to Facebook, Twitter, etc. will take you to those sites if that is where you wish to go. We do not support Likes or Tweets or any other social media interconnections which would require us to disclose your identity to them or to unknown third parties while you are here.

Also see the "Who Benefits" area of the site for additional information.

3. "But wait (we hear you say), can't I just Google each of these places myself? Why do I need you?" That is a fair question. We sometimes respond that you can build a moderate-sized pyramid too...given sufficient time. But aside from the most commonly searched-for destinations, that activity is going to take a while. We looked. We know how long it took us. Many of the sites we searched for did not show up in the first twenty pages of Google results...or we had to use alternate methods to find them.

In fact, let's try an experiment. Go to any of our pages and use the identifications/names provided (which is, in a way, cheating) to search for those sites. When you find each one, save it to a special directory under your "Favorites" area. How long did it take you? What is your time worth? It is left to you to gage whether your time spent was rewarding...or just a hassle.

Ok, now gather those links up and share them with one of your friends. Cut/paste, right-click, email, etc. and at the opposite end, your friend needs to visit each place and re-create those links under their "Favorites" section. Maybe you have a web page and you can post the links there for friends to find. Or perhaps you'll just Tweet/IM/etc. them each link. Seem like a bother? Read on.
