We didn't have a hard time finding these site, we had a hard time limiting the size of each list. Each section is based on our personal interpretation of what each brand represents. The Basic list does not put on any airs - these are the everyday essentials. Also, if a designer label simply has a few shoes on offer to round out their website, you'll most likely find them here. The quality of materials and (reasonable) cost may also play a part. Our Designer list members seemed to offer a bit more style so we assigned them their own space. Unique brands, individual shoes or even distribution methods - try it on. In Upscale we round out the topic with the best of breed.
